Shipping Policy

Wine can only be delivered to a person who is 21 years of age and older. All packages will be labeled “Adult Signature Required”. We strongly recommend shipping to a business address where someone can sign for your package. In some cases, your shipment may arrive in two or more separate boxes. It is your responsibility to make arrangements for the receipt and signature of each box. Wines purchased from Anthem Winery are not for resale, and are for personal consumption only.

We charge return fees of $15 per package along with any additional shipping charges after three unsuccessful delivery attempts have been made. In order to ensure safe transit of your package, we will hold all shipments until we determine that weather across the country is mild enough to allow for safe passage of your wine, which is usually in October and March of each year. If you have concerns about the weather in your region at that time or need to make alternate arrangements for delivery of your wine for any reason, it is your responsibility as the buyer to contact the winery directly and make alternate shipping arrangements. If you fail to make alternate arrangements for delivery of your wine, Anthem Winery cannot be held accountable in the event of undesirable weather conditions that arise during transit or upon delivery, or if someone is not present to sign for your wine.

Anthem Winery’s orders are processed as California-based transactions and are shipped from a high-quality fulfillment company within the state of California, usually in October and March of each year. Some states prohibit direct wine sales. Anthem Winery cannot ship wine to the following states: PA, UT, TN, KY, MA, MT, SD, OK AR, NJ, MS and DE. Those customers shipping wine to the following states must contact Anthem Winery directly for information on specific restrictions on shipments to your area: MT and AL. For an explanation of restrictions by state, please visit The Wine Institute.

Wine is a Delicate Commodity

Wine is a perishable commodity. Wine does not like extremes of temperature: hot humid summer and cold winter weather may adversely affect the condition of your wine during shipment. Anthem Winery is not responsible for, and will not replace wine that is damaged by extreme weather conditions during shipment. When your wine order is picked up by the common carrier for delivery, responsibility for the wine becomes the responsibility of the purchaser.
